Has the need for concerted interreligious dialogue and prayer ever been more pressing than the present when the ideological/religious potential for conflict confronts us with the possibility of the total destruction of the planet?

From my own experience of shared focus and exchange with Zen Buddhism I have drawn immense illumination and a correspondingly stronger commitment to my home in Christianity. The dedication of Buddhists to values inherent in Christianity—awareness of one’s place among others and in the cosmos, reverence, honesty, peace and care for the natural world—have revitalized my own quest to grow in these values and to let my consciousness be more closely shaped by them.
