Every sincere religious believer has something to say of his or her experience, but it is difficult to overcome our natural reluctance and caution. It cannot be hoped that people will feel comfortable in doing this unless they know their partners well. This takes time and much good will. But the rewards of being able to put into words some of the deepest values of our personal life and the discovery of comparable honesty and openness on the part of another believer can make the sharing of religious experience one of the richest and most rewarding forms of interfaith dialogue.
